A lil' originality can go a long way

Among the piles of crappy stick animations and video game parodies, there are a few rare gems. For the first animation ever, great job. I'd say, just add some backgrounds. They help keep continuity. It's rare to find someone else who craws their own in-betweens instead of letting the tweens do it for them. One in a million!

Story? What story?

The story, if you can call it that, was told in a particularly boring manner. And some o' the details don't make sense. Why would a man imprisoned for a hundred years for doing a "valiant deed" NOT be pissed? And then theres the art. Nothing special. You might want to work on that. And what's with this excessive blood in all these movies. Has no one ever heard of implied violence?!

mmark-oldflash responds:

Yeah, but you know the guys on NG. Always wanna see the images of gore. I've tried implied violence once, but it didn't go so well. And this isn't the WHOLE story. There is a whole heap of info I haven't yet leaked about this story. I don't wanna give away TOO much.

At least they're not sticks!

First off, I did like the ending. Nice play on the camera. Though the fact that there wer no backgrounds tended to bother me. You actually lose track of where you are relative to the character. Plus, with the simple characters, it should be fairly easy to animate the characters. maybe show a little more animation on the characters like you did on the end pose of the blonde character. With these facts aside, good effort and keep at it. You earned big style points for not pandering towards the stick figure and dragonball crowds (both type movies tend to sicken me...). Though it dun' seem to be a Guilty Gear X rip-off either...

Maverick22 responds:

Yes sticks are way to over used. It was kinda hard to keep moving the characters to were I wanted them to be with a background,
Its not really a GGX rip off but people keep ssayig that its a DBZ so I just say its a GGX ripp to shut them up.
Thanks for watching

It's sad it had to be sticks...

The text transitions and the camera shots at the beginning were good, but that's definitely not gonna make up for the fact that its a STICK MOVIE! Why would someone with so much potnetial want to make a stick figure movie? Animation was smooth, but it doesn't take skill to animate stick figures.

Uh... maybe you shouldn't make another one.

You know, using nothing but ripped graphics is no way to make a movie. Even the graphics you edited were pretty bad.

Dark-Vincent responds:

Er.. OK!!
J-O-K-I-N-G!!!

Why so glum, Chum?

Why are you so down on this cartoon! You should be proud. I was actually kinda funny. I scored it so low because I generally dun' like video game parodies, but for this genre, it's gotta be one of the best!

I was laughing so hard I didn't notice da graphics

I'm sorry to say that that was one funny piece of Flash! The jokes were nicely spaced out and some of the more subtitle ones were making me laugh even more. The violence didn't overshadow the comedy like most flash cartoons, which is great. I do admit though, the graphics need some work, but that's nothing practice couldn't take care of! And the sounds the zombies made when they attacked was a bit..... odd. O_o

Gggggggr-eat stuff! I'll be looking for mor o' yer stuff in the future.

It's no "A Bridge Too Far"...

But not much is! WW2 movies dun' have to be all action, but you might want to think about having more going on in a camera shot than just a zoom in on a character. Also, filling some of the empty black space in a lot of the shots will help emensely! The sounds were a bit blatantly ripped. You might wanna go for something a bit more obscure.

All in all, I applaude you for having better art and animation skills than those who duplicate the countless pathettically drawn and animated stick figure animations. Keep practicing, you have potential!

Every other stick cartoon w\ a candy bar...

That pretty much describes it. Nothing original, nothing special. Just sticks. They look like action figures compared to the background! Look. Your animation IS good, but that's no reason to have such CRAPPY visuals and complete lack of originality. The day we see the last of these damned STICK CARTOONS will be a better day for us all!!

A dying breed

I'll admit, some of the animations were nice and a few jokes made me chuckle (Kirby and Mario hurting himself was pretty funny), but everything else just fell apart. Most the animations were poorly done and the story went nowhere, plus the end hit ya like a brick wall at 90 MPH-- it came out of nowhere and it hurt to watch. Good video game parodies are a dying breed.

If you lived here, you'd be in hell right now!
